Our client manages open spaces for property developers and, during a period of rapid growth, is seeking a Fractional General Counsel to provide senior strategic leadership, establish best practices, and mentor a developing in-house legal team as the business scales.
The focus of the role is on experience, best practice and professional judgement rather than day-to-day operational delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level strategic legal leadership to the business
- Act as a mentor to the legal team, supporting professional development and decision-making
- Help establish, embed and evolve legal best practices, processes and governance
- Support the development and maturity of the legal function in line with business growth
- Act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders on complex or high-impact matters
- Identify gaps, risks and opportunities within the current legal setup and recommend pragmatic improvements
Key Requirements
- Senior legal background, ideally with experience as a General Counsel or in a comparable leadership role
- Experience operating in fast-growing or scaling organisations
- Proven ability to mentor and develop junior or mid-level legal professionals
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives
- Comfortable working in a fractional, advisory or consulting capacity
- Experience in a property-related environment would be an advantage
Engagement
- Fractional / part-time engagement
- Flexible working arrangement
- Mostly remote with a couple of visits to client office in Tarporley, Cheshire (you will need to drive)
- Initial 3-month engagement, with scope to extend
- IR35 determination TBC
Start date- ASAP, for 3 months.
